BACKYARD MICRO-WEDDING IN DELMAR, NEW YORK / UPSTATE NY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
When COVID-19 forced Jess & Dave to postpone their big wedding plans, they knew that they didn’t want to wait an entire year to get hitched, and proposed the idea of holding a micro-wedding ceremony in their backyard instead. Obviously, I was super excited to still be able to capture their day and I was absolutely blown away when I arrived at their home. Jess is a close friend of mine (she was actually one of the first people I met when we moved to New York!) so I’d already witnessed her creativity in action as multi-talented realtor, avid gardener, and amazing graphic designer. I knew that anything she planned and designed would be beautiful, but I never expected their backyard to look like an actual wedding venue! She and Dave worked tirelessly to transform their yard into a beautiful oasis and the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding celebration. The end result was stunning, and I had so much fun capturing their day surrounded by their closest family & friends, complete with homemade cocktails, barefooted games of cornhole & badminton and OF COURSE, the star of the night – their miniature schnauzer Harvey.
